Who Are We

Marla GastonMarla Gaston, RN, BSN, PN Coordinator

I joined the Practical Nursing Program as the coordinator/instructor in December of 2014. I received my Bachelors in Nursing from University of Central Missouri back in 2006. My nursing career began in the 1980’s as a nursing assistant and grew from there as the years past. Since obtaining my BSN I have primarily worked in intensive care.










 

Tanya SnethenTanya Snethen, RN, BSN, PN Instructor

Tanya is a full-time instructor for the CTS Practical Nursing program since January, 2016. She previously served as full-time instructor for the CTS PN Program in 2010 & 2011. Tanya currently teaches Fundamentals, Pharmacology, Med-Surg, Maternal-Newborn, Leadership, Geriatric Clinical, Med-Surg Clinical, and Maternal-Newborn Clinical. She has experience teaching almost all courses in the PN Program curriculum.

Tanya began her career in nursing as a nursing assistant, working her way through nursing school & beyond. Tanya has a broad knowledge of nursing; her nursing career includes: women’s surgical care, women & newborn care, labor & delivery, family practice, pre-admission services, home health case management, nursing education, medical assisting education, and simulation education. Tanya has been working in education providing instruction for students for many years. Tanya continues to work towards Master’s Degree in Nursing Education. She is enthusiastic about nursing & enjoys educating new nurses for our community.

Melissa BedwellMelissa Bedwell, RN, BSN, MSN PN Instructor

Melissa joined CTS in December 2018 as a PN Instructor. She has previously taught for the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg and served as the Night Shift Manager for the GVMH Emergency Department for nearly four years. She obtained her Master of Science in Nursing Education in 2020.

Melissa currently teaches Personal Vocational Concepts, Anatomy and Physiology, Nutrition, Pharmacology and IV Therapy, Mental Health, Growth and Development, Pediatrics and Geriatrics. She also teaches the Medical-Surgical clinicals, Leadership clinicals and Geriatric Clinicals. Currently, Melissa also works PRN at GVMH on weekend nights. She looks forward to continuing to work with the Clinton community and encouraging students to become great nurses in our community.

lisa winklerLisa Winn, Adult Ed/Financial Aid Coordinator

Lisa has been working at Clinton Technical School since 2001. She started her CTS career as a Community Education Coordinator, but her job shifted into being the Adult Ed/Financial Aid Coordinator for the past 10 years. Lisa earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Texas A&M University and her Master’s Degree in Management from Webster University.

She loves assisting students in finding financial resources in order to make attending nursing school a reality.
